Central London is one of the best places to drink in a pub in the whole world…..you will find a multiple pubs that you love!
London Top 5: with such a wide range of traditional pubs and bars, it’s very difficult to select places for a top 5 list….with a little bit of cheating, these selections just sneak ahead of the rest.
Cask Pub and Kitchen: Opened in 2009, this pub in a residential area in Pimlico, close to Victoria, has a fabulous range of cask, keg and bottled beers, including a “vintage cellar” featuring many rare beers that you won’t find elsewhere. Linked with the Craft Beer Co. group
Craft Beer Co: It’s impossible to select just one bar/pub from the Craft Beer Co range, so I’ll cheat and include them all as 1 entry. Every pub in the group has a different feel and a different beer range. The original is in Clerkenwell, in an old pub with a pub feel…the focus is on cask beer, but with a wide range of keg beers too. The latest addition is The Bear in Paddington, with a modern feel and a fantastic selection of keg beers (with 6 casks too). Also try the bars in St Mary Axe (The City), Covent Garden, Hammersmith, Brixton and Limehouse.
The Queens Head, Kings Cross: Excellent old school pub just away from the hustle and bustle of Kings Cross. Operated by the same team as Mother Kellys, the focus is on quality cask ale and interesting keg beers.
De Hems Dutch Cafe Bar: De Hems is a rarity…a London put evokes the genuine feel of a traditional central european bar. With draft beers from Netherlands, Belgium and beyond, there is also a huge range of european bottled beers. This is a must visit!
